Your code issue is probably being caused by the nil attribute (usually the source of that particular error).

hi and thank you for taking some time to answer my question.
I found a solution. I found out that I can't publish the form in a Record Center and promote the columns with values. Once I published my form outside of the record center, the columns were populated with the values from the form.

There are other options other than email notifications. InfoPath 2007 is where the big email integration changes occured anyway.
Do you have a SharePoint site? Or a website where the users can get to the forms? You could then have a dashboard that shows users just their forms when they login to the website.

So that field you remove from the UI should still be visible in the already submitted forms? I have tried this and it seems to also remove the field from the forms that have already been submitted....not sure what I am doing wrong!

Interesting. I have InfoPath 2003, by the way.
I have found that I can email the form but it uses Outlook to process the email. We have kiosk computers for many of our users which would not have and Outlook account setup for the generic users so I don't think email will work. I suppose I have already created the request form, to finish this ...

Hmmm. But you see, in your form, I don't see a resource file nor a data connection to this mapping file. And your submit data connection in your template (the one that submits to the SharePoint Lists Web service) uses a main data source node for the listName, and the Batch node from a data connection called Add List Item Template, not the ...
