ok i found out how to do it as long as i have the EXACT same value from dropdown 1 in the table feeding dropdown 2 (ie the value displayed in the dropdiwn)
i could not seem to utilise the foreign key (departmentID) to get a match as its asking to match the value in dd1, i cant seem to get at the ID...

I am trying to conditionally form a section (show/hide) based on values in my form. There are more that 12 fields that need to be validated before I can show or hide a particular label. However when I try to add conditions for formatting I cannot add more than 5 Conditions? How can this be overcome?

the code should work perfectly i guess your form falls under the scenarios for which this code doesnt work as mentioned by jimmy in the blog. if it doesnt please attach a skelton of your template (with code) so that we can have a look at it

this gets fired when form is saved

relinking the old forms should do the trick, go to the document library -> settings -> document library settings -> relink documents to this library
and select the documents to be relinked.
