• Re: Running custom exe

You can run the my.exe, but you will have to alter the example that you have seen a little bit. I'm sure in the code snippets you have seen when someone wanted to run Notepad they simply typed ''notepad.exe''. The reason this can be done is that notepad.exe is included in the %PATH% environment variable. So you have a couple options: 1. Place ...

  • Re: problem with db connection to a repeating table

It sounds like you need a Master/Detail repeating section, but it's hard to decipher exactly what you are doing from your post. Could you please fill us in on some of the details on what you are trying to accomplish and the problem you are seeing?

  • Re: Add Sharepoint List Items with InfoPath

For #1 I would double-check to make sure that the data types in both places were compatible. You can have a date or a datetime in both InfoPath and SharePoint. Make sure you are not trying to submit a datetime into a date or vice versa. 2) Does the Contact table not have the Company ID that it is associated with? I would think that this filter ...

  • Re: Crash opening a saved form

Hey Laurie, It seems that you are running into the incredibly weird, annoying, and downright perplexing bug that Thierry and I have also run into. Thanks a lot for the suggestion Yonah! I'm sure this works great and gives you the true value (as stored in the database) of what you are looking for. Thanks again for the contribution!

  • Re: Saving a form in Draft Mode

Hello Maria, Users should be able to accomplish this by simply saving the XML file to their desktop and then opening it later to finish it. Are you trying to tackle a specific scenario and having some trouble?

  • Re: script populate field that is bound to database

When using a database connection as a secondary data source, you won't be able to edit the fields underneath the dataFields node since these are simply the results of a query to the database. You can, however, edit the fields under the queryFields node. If you want to edit data and then submit back to the database you will have to create a new ...

  • Re: Add Sharepoint List Items with InfoPath

You should be able to dynamically manipulate the XML of the secondary DOM anyway you like since the schema is not checked at runtime. However, you might want to work with XML objects in memory for your manipulations and then just serialize them to text when you are ready to submit to SharePoint.

  • Re: Problem Opening InfoPath Form

Sorry to hear that you had to recreate your form, but from the sounds of it, it wasn't as bad as it could have been.

  • Re: Debugging in VS 2005

Hey Laurie, I know of no way to enable the save and other commands from the menu buttons while previewing the form from the designer. If you need to debug these particular instructions you could use thisXDocument.UI.Alert()s with the published form to help. Also, you can preview your form with a particular XML file by going to File -> Preview ...
