Yes, custom schemas throw a wrench in the mix.
The best thing for you to do at this point is A) if you have form code, use the on load event to add those fields into the existing forms if they are not already present, or B) write a custom upgrade.xsl -- this is possible, but not exactly easy. There should be documenation on how to do this in the ...

Well, if your not dead, splatted on the street yet...
Try clearing the form cache--Launch IP afresh, and remove existing forms from the cache in the Fill Out A Form -or- Getting Started window.
Verify that IE settings are consistent across machines.
There's all kinds of other system settings that could be different across machines.

Hmm. I remember getting this same error not that long ago. Unfortunately I don't recall why I was getting it or what I happend to make it go away.
I remember having some issues after doing some Windows Updates, but I don't recall whether these were related.
Sorry I can't help further--just know you're not the only one to see this ...

It depends on whether you are using IP03 compatible code or not... If you are using the IP07 OM, then just select the node as you normally would and set the value to the base64 string. It's the same thing.

Sorry I don't hae any more details than this. Maybe david can respond.

You are using code? You need to.
Make sure you use .selectNodes() rather than .selectSingleNode().

I used to develop all the time using VS2005 and IP03... So long as you have the right adons you should be able to do this. Check under "Office" rather than under "Office/2003 Add-ins"... that's where you can create an InfoPath form template using VS05 and IP07.... don't recall if its the same for IP03.

Load your binary file into a byte[] array, then use string b64val = Convert.ToBase64String(array) to get the base64 string value. This value is then set to the file attachment field in your form.
thisXDocument.DOM.selectSingleNode("/my:myFields/my:Base64File").text = b64val;
