Instead of a rule on Field5, if ActionsConCat is outside of the repeating group, you can just use a default value for that field, and use the double eval formula there.
eval(eval(PickTheRepeatingGroupWithTheFieldPickerHere, 'concat(my:field5, "; ")'), "..")

I meant to get to this yesterday - I'm glad you found that a button does what you need. The form load rules run when the form opens. So switching the drop down value after the form has already opened is too late. If you have an existing form that you were re-opening, the form rule would have fired and then the view would have changed if the ...

Hi!
So - if I open a brand new template, I should either be able to edit an existing employee or enter information on a new employee?
qRules can help you here (if you are using it in this template) because you could use the following logic in your form:
Add a secondary data connection to the library of employee forms (make sure you've ...

So - you could have all the server info in one list (even decommission info) and then show / hide sections in the form based on their first selection. All the controls for New Server could go in a section that is formatted to hide unless New Server is selected. All the controls for Decommissioned Server go in their own section and are hidden ...

In the forms, the controls seem bound correctly - but neither of the forms seem to have a view that match that screenshot.
If you create a test list and try to edit that form in InfoPath, does the problem re-occur? Just trying to help you narrow the issue down.....

You should be able to preview the form template to verify it prior to publishing it - generally, you have to publish a form template, not just copy it back to the SharePoint list. Are these customized list templates?

To save a form as source files, from the publish menu, select Export. That gets you files, and you can take a look at the data connections in the manifest file in a text editor. To pack it back up, in the folder of source files, right click on manifest.xsf, select design and the form opens in design mode. From there, File > Save As gives you a ...

Here is a sample, I also added a filter so you can't pick the item entered in the first column. Save the form locally, right click and select Design to preview it. Save it as source files and take a look at the view file in a text editor - I modified line 284 & line 292 to move up the tree before selecting the field I wanted to use in the ...

Oh, I see - yes, this is something kind of hard to do in InfoPath. It can be done by manually modifying the view to make the XPath to the repeating group not relative, but that is the only way I know how to make it behave as you want. Under the publish category you can select export form files which will allow you to open the view with a text ...

Well, attach your form in process under the options tab & I'll take a look.
