See attached. However, in InfoPath 2010, I don't see an option to add a filter to the repeating table that is connected to the secondary data source....
Edit: Of course, it is under Manage Rules. I'm still adapting to the UI changes!

Thank you Ernesto, my problem was that I did not understand binding the section to a field - really new at this.
I ended up picking a field that already existed and changing the binding to that field and that seems to have solved it.
As a practice should I be creating a new field to bid the section to or just picking one that already ...

You're right: printing InfoPath controls is usually an ugly mess. What I typically do is have two sections. One section is for data input, with all the controls.

What I basically want to do is create some sort of Control which acts like a richtextbox. However, my control needs to do a few things differently.
When you ...

Hilary,
My users might be a bit weirder than most. They have a tendency to click the left-top blue button and then accidentally delete the section. I need to disable their ability to delete the entire section but still allow them the ability to insert additional sections. I thought that I could disable the insert ...

Yep! The reason for the dashes is that this field is concat'd with additional fields to form an ID, which needs to always be a certain length.
