  • Re: Position() bug?

    OK panic over, I've discovered what I'm doing wrong here. The expression box needed to be in the same group of nested groups to display the correct value. Obvious when I think about it now ;-) Thanks to every one for your help.

  • Re: Position() bug?

    The primary problem is that the position() function give the correct position in an expression but always returns ''1'' in a text box. So the expression box that gives my my position value, I need to display in another view in a printed version of the form. However the expression box I recreate elsewhere always displays ''1''. Driving me crazy...

  • Re: Position() bug?

    I'm having a simular problem with position() I'm using position() to indicate the number of a repeating table, therefore each repeated table see position increment by 1 which is great. I a print view of the document I want to retain this numbering however all I get is a sequential number. e.g. In a repeating section called Country, I have a ...

  • Re: Auto Populating fields in repeating sections

    OK, If you create a repeating section, add a dropdown box, that enables you to select a country from a secondary data file. Then create a rule that populates the selected value to another text field. Now create another section, both the dropdown box and the opoulated text field are blank in the repeated section. At least that what I see? What I ...

  • Auto Populating fields in repeating sections

    I am trying to copy the value stored in a drop down box into another field as its default value. This is very easy however both fields are in a repeating section. If I select, for example, a country in my drop down box, and populate anothe field with that country value. When I repeat the section the populated value is not carried over into the ...

  • Re: Repeating Cascade List Problem

    I've finally managed to get this to work. I abondoned the flat data file I created that caused the repeading datasource!! and went back to generating the XML from Microsoft Access. In following the tutorial in http://infopathdev.com/howto/tutorials/default.aspx?i=51dce616335a4ff6a78f2d289baf4651 (yet again) I still couldnt get uniqueness to ...

    This is what I see in my datasource: The nested datasource is expanded when I click on the + symbol. You can carry on clicking the + symbol and see another nested group of data ad infinitum ?

  • Re: Repeating Cascade List Problem

    Still battling with this one!!! I decided to create my secondary data source manually in the same format as the tutorial, rather than generate the XML from =Excell I have managed to do this sucessfully (I think) but now I see the same group repeat itself, ad infinitum in the Data Source view. Top level is a ordinary group, the others are ...
