Posted to General (Forum) by Anson Hidajat on 10-18-2012 Re: Concatenating 2 text fields and validating characters 1) Create a validation rule that goes something like if string-length(concat(firstName, " ", lastName)) > 20 then display error "Cannot be more than 20 characters" 2) Similarly you can also create a rule that checks for individual special characters, but this would be a little more hard coding. Perhaps an easier way ... Posted to Browser Forms (Forum) by Anson Hidajat on 10-18-2012 Re: Filter Values before binding to a dropdown. Filtering the dropdown when it appears more than 4 times is a little trickier than your traditional filter rule. Maybe what you can do is create a secondary repeating field that you can add entries to when the count for that value is 4 or more. Then you can apply this field to your filter. If you know there are x number of ... You would have to split up the fields into their own separate controls to do this. Posted to General (Forum) by Anson Hidajat on 10-12-2012 Re: Field with rules showing value immediately Rules are usually triggered when a field changes. It is then important to keep in mind when you want the rule to fire because this will dictate which field to place your rule on. From your description, sounds like you need to move your rule from the Cost field to the Item field because after the user selects the Item is when you want the ... Posted to Browser Forms (Forum) by Anson Hidajat on 10-12-2012 Re: Prevent a field from being divided on two pages. Unfortunately I don't think this is possible. InfoPath doesn't have many different ways to manipulate print pages. You could create a print view and then optimize for printing. Keep controls as fixed width so that when printed its shows up as expected. You can use string functions (substring) in InfoPath to parse our the hour and the minutes. Then you can add to the minutes based on the total amount then divide by 60. The result should be added to the hours and then the remainder should be ... I would recommend removing as much as possible from the form till you get into a state where your form can publish. Then slowly add more and more stuff to the form and publishing each time. When the publish breaks, then you'll have a ... Posted to Browser Forms (Forum) by Anson Hidajat on 10-11-2012 Page 6 of 62 (619 items) « First ... < Previous 4 5 6 7 8 Next > ...
