  • Re: Repeating table in browser form. Keeping rows in descending order.

Hi Aakashn, Well, I'd use two sections. The second sectoin (below the first) is read-only and shows the log entries in decending order. The first section is just one entry and allows edit. If you need to sort the sections, you can use Qdabra's qRules to sort without code. Best of luck!

  • Re: Infopath submitting multiple records without closing the form deletes previous record

Hi JoeManc, Sorry to hear you're having problems. InfoPath's built-in support for databases is bad because it assumes a direct connection and that causes problems when schemas change. In addition, a direct connetion limits you to SQL data types. Best practice here is to use a Web Service. So, given you've slaved away at this problem ...

  • Re: Disabling Sections

Hi Ubaser, Are you using the InfoPath rich client or the browser-based client? If the former, you can use User Roles to easily accomplish your goal. User Roles can be accessed in the Designer from the Tools menu. If you are using browser based forms you will need to use On Load rules (Tools->General->Rules in IP2007) and use field(s) in the ...

  • Re: Randomizing questions

Hey mgarant!  I've been a bit busy with other work, but I've finally got a working code for my form.. It's set as a loading event.  The question remains, how do I use the numbers on my form? Like I said, I'm completely null with coding, so even this confuses me.. Could you please point me at the right way or something? ...

  • Re: Copying fields in the data source, same field name and type, sequential number

No not a silly question, I thought maybe one of the repeating functions might be the answer but I can't get it to work, probably because I'm not doing it right. So let's say I have a ClientCode field which is in a repeating group. When I drag the field onto the form it puts it in a repeating section, if I drag it again it puts it ...

  • Re: Hide Button if Online/Offline

Unfortunately no sorry Dean - not sure how hard it is in code (might be some code examples on the web), but I think my colleague ended up creating 2 separate forms: one for InfoPath Forms Services [online] and one for InfoPath Client running on a laptop [offline].

  • Populate a dropdown box with usernames form a site collection

Is there a way to poulate a dropdown box with usernames form a site collection without writing code or using a custom list? The example here shows how to achive it with the "current" user.  However, I am trying to display all uses in the site collection

  • Re: Reports from InfoPath

Where do you keep your InfoPath forms?  Are they in SharePoint or on a network/local drive? You could generate reports from InfoPath using code but it would be a lot of work, also, the report would by nature be custom to a single InfoPath template and not a "generic" solution. If your forms are stored in SharePoint there is some ...
