Have you tried passing the this variable as an XmlFormHostItem to class1?  That should contain everything you need.

 Well, I have passed the XpathNavigators from the mainform.cs to class1.cs and it works; I suppose i have to do the same with NamespaceManager.

You most likely need to remove the nil attributes from IssueDT, BgnDT, EndDT, ChkNum, etc., not from oNewRow.

This issue disappeared for a couple weeks but we had three occurences today.  During the last one we were able to get on the machine and see it.  I verified connectivity to the SharePoint server and was able to download Word docs from other SP libraries while this was happening.  Most of the time when Infopath hangs like this, ...

Has anyone else noticed how BAD the Help files are in 2010? many of the menu items do not have any information at all provided on the ms office site and none of the ? icons on the dialog boxes connect to anything that is relevant. Any idea who we can complain to? Thanks Dean
