What version of Lagan are you trying to connect to? Later versions have better native support for .NET clients.
Lagan's web services will typically expect either token based, or Basic Auth authentication credentials to be passed. Do you know which one your Lagan system expects?

I got the same error when submitting to SQL Server. I don't know exactly why, but what fixed this was changing my DSN source from the newer "SQL Server Native Client" to one just using the plain "SQL Server" driver.
