Is this form currently in production? Has anyone filled it out? If so, you are now stuck w/ numbers for the values. But if the numbers don't actually have any meaning, and the form is not yet being filled out, you should be able to just change your dropdown so that the value and display are the same.

When you hardcode the options, they are in the view file (the XSL) - there are no functions in InfoPath for getting data back from the view. Is the company using SharePoint at all? Then you could put the data in a list - which is pretty easy to add items to if needed down the road. Is there a reason for using 1, 2, etc for the values instead of ...

I guess if you have an idea of the max number of selections, you could include that many by ...

Is this in filler or browser? Ctrl + Shift + O (that is the letter o, not zero) in filler should open a dialog that will tell you what field is invalid.

Hi -
So, you can use code for this (here's a sample - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/826992)
Or, if you are returning all items and trying to use an XPath filter to get the right one back - what is the expression you are using? Click the "Edit XPath" button in the formula editor and paste it into a reply and I might be ...

Looks like your form is published to Incidents/Incident Tracking and your form submit is to Incidents. The submit connection needs to be changed to Incidents/Incident Tracking.
