Is the formula you are trying returning an error?
I'd think you need count(preceding-sibling::my:mlstSubCategory .... etc for the count portion. And I'd add a filter on mlstSubCategory where you selected it (inside the second eval formula using the field picker) to include cannot be blank...

I'm sorry, I didn't read closely enough. Your URL doesn't look right - it is missing /_vti_bin
Try your URL in the browser first to make sure it returns the page that shows the operations for the service.

I'm happy this thread & the forum in general have been helpful to you - how funny that the requirements changed right when you were working out the solution - isn't that the way it always goes? :)
Have a great day!

This will be easiest if the data is in SQL. You can create a data connection to the SQL table and then use an XPath filter to get the correct values based on the skill & node to set your field values. The form can submit to a form library - your workflow can be on the library.
Some links that may help ...

What is the full XPath to Participant_Name? You can right click the node in the data source task pane and select copy XPath - I think I can help you with your formula.

Hi - I'm rather confused about why you'd want to do this - but no matter, sample attached. Save the file locally, right click the saved file and select Design to open in design mode and preview. I did set "field1" to not be included by default under the Data > Default Values option. But the initial group selection could ...
