I think I understand, so on all 3 of the pages the button would flip to a value if they chose to divert to the other view? Then the button on that page examines that field and switches them back if value = X? I guess I would have to clear the value in that field somehow too so its ready for the next possible view?

Hi, there is no build in previous version however you can save your view information on a field and make condition on rules base with this field to switch back to the previous view.

Is there a "back to previous view" function I can use in infopath? I have a view that may be accessed from any 1 of 3 views, so I won't know which view they are on when they click back. Is there someway to know where they came from so I can return them back to that specific view?

Yes your right that's what it's doing. I guess I need to do a count operation when the value is greater then zero, and further down the rabbit hole I go.

Hmm, maybe it's because it's Friday and my brian is fried but where is this edit button? Is this an InfoPath button or a button you added to the form? If you can attach the template that might help, also - is this a browser or client form and 2007 or 2010?

I do not think it is a read only view - I checked the properties. Perhaps I should be more clear. What I would like is when a user opens an existing form, all the fields are enabled - without having to select the edit button.

qRules has a feature called SetCaption that might do the trick for you:

It only works in the client though so you are out of luck if this is a browser form (although from your description it sounds like a client form).

Hi Erik,
There are some tips in this post that might help: http://www.infopathdev.com/forums/p/9379/33219.aspx
Hope that helps

It sounds like you have a read only view enabled? If that is true it sounds like the form is defaulting to the read only view and the edit button switches to the edit view. In order to open the form in the right view you need to change the on load rules and have the form open to the right view.

Hi bobbyg. SharePoint with InfoPath Form Services is required in order to open the form in a browser. If someone sends you the template and or the form it will open in the client. You will need to get access to the SharePoint site where InfoPath form services is located and open the form from a link that opens it in the ...
