anotherchrisberry,
Did you try this VBscript method?

Hope that helps

Have you tried using a rule to do this?
If I understand your question it seems to me that you can use a rule and Xpath to increment your 'followNumber' field.

I think you just have to play with the xpath (check the advanced check box) a little bit to get it to work. It seems like it may be somewhat buggy. Doing it with code is probably the prefered way to make it work the first time, but the wizards should work! It did take me 3 or 4 tries on each field to get it to work. I had to keep playing with ...

Yes, very possible to do this.

Perhaps. It took me a couple of times to get it right for me. That file is what you wanted, right? That is when you previewed the form it worked as you expected?

When I was testing this out last night (and I did get it work in the end) it seemed a little flaky at times, I had to play around with ...

Hi,
Yes, using the xPath this is what you would do. It's a little bit tricky to get it just right, but I hope that the following directions can help you figure this out:
1) edit the properties of the repeating table
2) Add a rule
3) The condition is to test to see if the field is blank, then we are going to instruct InfoPath to copy the ...

Hi again,
I think you will want to investigate using rules and using ''preceding-sibling''. Within that repeating table you can refer to the preceding entry (silbing) using rules to autopopulate the inserted line.
Here are a couple of places to help you on your way in more ...

Hi schikkam and welcome to InfoPathDev!
It appears that there may be an issue with the credentials for the users who are trying to use that form.
Here are some posts that might be helpful and get you started in the right ...
