Why not just set the value of the dropdown field to "" using a rule? Shouldn't require code.

Hi there,
It's too bad that S.Y.M.Wong doesn't have her own forum. We get asked to answer many questions regarding her blog. :)
Sometimes she graces this site and answers questions. Unfortunately, we don't support other blogs because not all of them use best practices.
Sorry about that!

Hi Brian,
Use an action in your rule that set's one of those values. When you set the value, use the filter button to only set for the row that has the correct row (ID, Title, LastPONumber). If that doesn't work, you may need to manually edit the manifest. Give it a try and let me know if you have trouble. Also, note that our qRules ...

Hi GrindCrusher and welcome!
First, check that when you open the form in the browser, the zone is Local Intranet? If your browser shows "Internet" try adding the "webservices.domain.com" to your local intranet sites and see if that fixes the issue.
Second, if you are publishing a full trust form, you'll need to make sure ...

Hi Josie,
First idea is that you are not actually publishin the form, or when you do publish you aren't opening from the published location. This could be caused by a caching bug. To clear your cache, click Start and InfoPath and remove the form templates that you were using for your form template. Then, open again from the published location ...

Hey JappieJ!
OK, the reason is that the data types aren't roundtripped with list forms. The InfoPath list forms save the data to a table on SharePoint. That table is stored in SQL so the data types must be converted to SQL and then roundtripped. So, you are seeing this problem. If you use an InfoPath Form Library, it will save the data as XML ...

Both work for me. I took an XML file I had created and added the utf-8 encoding and saved (via notepad). Then, I double clicked and it opened fine. I did file->saveAs and called it fileB.xml. I examined this in notepad and the utf-8 encoding marker had roundtripped. Next, I added the encoding="ISO-8859-1" and did the same - no ...

Hi Ben,
I'm guessing that you designed the form in IP2007. There was a weird bug where if you designed the form in IP2007 you couldn't get the view to display in IP2003 email. Try to create a new form from scratch in IP2003 Designer and enable the email connector. If that sends the view, you will have to compare the manifest.xsf (in the ...

How can an infopath form (2003) be opened by some one who does not have access to its published location. The form also has data connections to xml files which hold information for lists within the form.

Hi Zhen,
You can't easily copy repeating nodes from one area to another unless you use code (or qRules).
Since you are already a DBXL customer, we'll give you a copy of qRules. The CopyTable command won't work without qRules. We could send you code in place of qRules, but qrules is a better value since you won't have to maintain ...
