  • Re: Form based on two tables

I don't think Excel will copy nicely into IP -- especially if what are you wanting is to insert as many rows into your form as there are rows in Excel. We do sell a tool for Excel to InfoPath conversion that you may find useful, however, if you have a process that is currently in Excel that you are trying to move to InfoPath.

  • Re: Get current user info from SQL DB - No code

Hi: The standard SQL connection in IP will pull all the data from the table. There is no way without code to add a dynamic where clause. If having all the data returned to your form and then filtering at that point isn't a dealbreaker, you can do that -- run your query and set your values from the returned data, adding a filter where USER_ID ...

  • Re: Get current user info from SQL DB - No code

Just to add. No matter what filters I add it is pulling all the data from that specific SQL column. If I modify the data connection SELECT  USER_ID, EMPLOYEE_FIRST_NAME, FROM MYTABLE WHERE USER_ID = 'The user name'  It will pull my single user id.. however, I need the current user id and not a pre-set one.

  • Re: Pictures in an XML-file?

You can also create and use a separate InfoPath form to produce your XML with a repeating group containing pictures and their related data, then save out and use that XML as your secondary data source.  You will probably still need to modify the 2ds schema in your main form to indicate the field as base64, like Hilary says.

  • Re: NEW error from exisiting forms - Access Denied from DB.

Hi, Catharine: If you open the SharePoint site in Internet Explorer, what security zone is it in? That's what I'd check first, see if the site is in your Local Intranet.

  • Re: InfoPath Error: System.IO.FileNotFoundException

Code that uses the SharePoint object model has to be run directly on the server or you will get a FileNotFound exception.  A better practice, if possible, is to use the SharePoint web services, which do not have that restriction.

  • Re: Pictures in an XML-file?

Hey there: I'd try encoding the image as a base 64 binary string, then saving that in my XML file. You can find tools online that will encode / decode base 64. After adding the XML as a secondary data connection to my form, I'd save the form as source files and modify the data connection schema to ensure the data type for my ...

  • Re: The form template associated with this form cannot be found.

Do you have IP 2007 installed on your machine? Can you open the template? Can your users open the template in design mode? What about updates -- are their IP 2007 installs on the latest service packs?

  • InfoPath Error: System.IO.FileNotFoundException

Hi, I am trying to create an instance of SPSite in Form_Loading event of the InfoPath 2007 template. When I use: SPSite site = new SPSite("http://myserver/mysite") I get error: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: The Web application at http://myserver/mysite could not be found. Verify that you have typed the URL correctly. If ...
