Oh, you won't find too many people who'll disagree with you on that -- it does seem like it would make more sense to be able to just view switch (certainly easier on the designer, I'd much rather work on several views than have a long long single view to deal with). To my knowledge, the issue is actually one of rendering order -- the ...

Hilary,
I just tried a little test and it works wonderfuly. Thank you very much for your time and input on this.
Do you happen to know why Infopath was designed like this though. It seems that my original way of doing this, by having two views and switching the views on email submit would have been a much simpler ...

This is one of the beautiful things about InfoPath. The data source and controls are somewhat separate.
You can bind as many controls as you need to a single field. If they are in the same view, you'll see a little blue "i" on the control, letting you know you have multiple controls bound to the same field, but that is just an ...

I am creating a form that calculates the travel advance amount based on the data entered into other fields. I go the calculation working (and rounding up thanks to you guys) but now I was wondering if there was a way for that particular field to only populate the calculation total if a "yes, I need a travel advance" check box is ...

Hi Ryan,
Your requirements are pretty simple and I think you could easily manage this via either workflow in your InfoPath form or via SharePoint workflow.
There may even be a built in (default) workflow in SharePoint that handles your scenario out of the box, I recall there be a three tier workflow or something that you could just enable on ...
