If you can control where the users go after the form is submitted you could change it to anywhere. Once they got to this other page you could run some JavaScript that would close the current window.
Since you probably don't have this option, try opening the view that they are switched to in SharePoint Designer and adding the JavaScript that way. ...

This seems a little weird but maybe it is happening because you are using an InfoPath generated Submit button and there is some extra hidden logic behind that. Try removing the submit button you currently have, adding a new one, and this time use Rules and Custom Code and a rule on the button to do the submission. I think this will fix the issue.

Hey Bill,
This is a hard task. If all of the old forms have the exact same schema you should be able to either write code or an XSL that will upgrade the old files on open. Depending on how complex the schema changes are I would just add the code. This makes it a little easier to think about and more familar.

Hi schung,
I'm not sure what you're asking here, but maybe you already figured it out in this thread:http://infopathdev.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=3964
If this is a different problem, just let us know!

Cool, glad you got it to work!

Hi Deb,
As Shilpa mentioned, this tutorial should work regardless of data source - you will only need to edit your XPath statement to filter the drop-down correctly.

You can import the template whenever you create a new project in Visual Studio. This will disconnect any JScript code you may have written from the form, but the script.js file should still be there for reference.

Hi diabolche,
Try this:
var date = XDocument.DOM.selectSingleNode(''//my:date1'').text;
var annee = date.substring(0, 4);

I feel your pain on working in script editor without Intellisense - oh the agony!

However, this only works with InfoPath 2007 :) I usually look at the data source task pane to construct XPaths - don't forget those namespaces!

Hi Kun,
I'm confused by this code - are you writing this in codebehind an InfoPath form or is this a SharePoint web part? Can you give us some context here?
