ErnestoM,  I thought that would solve my problem but it didn't work.  I applied the rule to when the form is open but the price still gets updated.  Can you tell me where I am going wrong?

After browsing around for a few days after posting this I found a small thread stating there is no way to programmatically access the page number(given by infopath) of an infopath form, I chose to go another route and eventually got it working.
