Do you mind attaching a copy of your form in a reply, under the Options tab, showing your current attempt?

I don't think so - but I'm not sure I understand what you are asking.... if this is a SharePoint List form, and you want it to NOT be a SharePoint List form, you'll probably just need to start from scratch.

I've had the same problem with browsers outside of IE. If I use IE 11, all is well. If I use Edge or Chrome, my formatting gets eaten. If I set Edge Emulation w/ a user agent string of IE 11, it works (so maybe your browser has a compatibility view you can add the site to?)

Do you have any pictures or logos in your form? InfoPath may be storing duplicates of images, we could manually modify the view so both views use the same image, for example. That may get the size down.... so you don't have to get up at 3am to publish your form. ;)

You also asked about query vs. data fields - sorry, I didn't answer that. We use query fields to return only specific information from the data source. So - in the data connection we were looking at, you could set the query Teacher field to "John Smith" and then add another rule to run the query. Only data with the Teacher = John ...

There is no rule action in InfoPath to add instances of repeating groups. You either need to use code (or qRules) or include the repeating groups by default and use some kind of conditional formatting to hide them if they aren't needed.

In the Cyberstone Classes and Teachers list in SharePoint, is the Teacher column a lookup to another list? Or is it just a text field?
In general, I think the rule you currently have on the Course field is close. You need to add a filter to indicate which teacher you want - I'm attaching a screenshot. The first value in ...
