Did you see my new reply in that thread?

Are there any other fields in that data source that you're not using? If so, please try the following:Add a rule to set the value of the extra field to a value it wouldn't normally have (like "go") after the data is queried (probably a Form Load rule).
Add a rule to that extra field itself like the following:
...

Please try replacing that first dot with the following:../my:MultiSelectFieldName

This is because you have quotation marks around "../my:Vendors/my:Vendor_List/my:Vendor_Company", which makes it a string, rather than a path. No need for the quotation marks there.
I also suspect that you should be using just my:Vendor_Company rather than ../my:Vendors/my:Vendor_List/my:Vendor_Company.

I have a feeling that the issue here is the associativity of AND and OR. AND has a higher precedence than OR, so in this case, what you're actually getting is:[TB1 is equal to 39,000 AND TB2 is less than 3500] OR TB2 is greater than 3700[TB1 is equal to 40,000 AND TB2 is less than 3670] OR TB2 is greater than 3870[TB1 is equal to 41,000 ...

There's no need to use string() here. What's the actual formula you're using?

Perhaps substring-before() is what you seek?

Not as far as I know. Showing and hiding sections is probably your best bet.

[quote user="cpluce"]The form was already domain trust. Thanks Hilary you been very helpful. The disable loopback fixed it
I have one little issue left. I am able to set the filters statically in this URL by using the filter in the default value by using ID = "1" /some number but I am having trouble using ID = field ...

Yes, certainly, though only in filler-compatible forms (the same is true for IP 2007). Is your form filler compatible?
