Thanks Jimmy, just did a re-jig of the data source and now the insert command works a treat!
Inserts a new row below the previous one and I don't need the /posn= or /count= paramaters

Hello Ben,
The problem here is with the design of your data source. For the Insert command to work properly, the repeating node being modified needs to have its own parent, whereas ExpenseItems and Mileage both have sibling nodes that share the same parent nodes as themselves (ExpenseSubTotal, FuelType, etc.). Giving repeating ...

You are not stupid at all. qRules should be filling in a value in the id field on successful submit. Can you attach a copy of your form (under the Options tab)?
It sounds as if your items are being submitted successfully, but the id field is not being populated. I'd like to take a look and see if there is anything obviously awry.

Yeah sorry about the lack of info.
Yes, the other selectors work fine (I'm using the Person group as a reference to have multiple).
It is the browser forms, yes. (specifically it's in IE6, if that matters..)

Jimmy,
Thanks for replying - however I figured it out.
On my initial design I had the cost centre code populate automatically in a text box when I chose the cost centre dept from a list. I tried moving the control into the repeating table, but it told me that the data wouldn't work in the table.
I didn't think of ...

I have this qRules command in the Submit button: "SubmitToSharePointList /submit=ShpListSubmit /mapping=mapping /id=my:id" but I get no data in the id field in the form. Will qRules fill in a value in the id field or where does the value come from ? I'm sorry I'm a bit stupid.
