Ok, the right side was cut off, but I assume that Project_Name2 is the first node under group7, yes?
Please try using this as the default value formula for Project_Name2:
/my:myFields/my:group3/my:group4[count(preceding-sibling::my:group4) = count(current()/../preceding-sibling::my:group7)]/my:Project_Name1

Thank you for the response, I'll send him a message and see what happens. I don't mind the leg work.

I have attached my data source in the .docx in the .zip file
Thanks for clarifying that!

Your data source is the hierarchical structure of your form's fields, shown in the taskpane. Can you attach a screenshot of that?

Aha! I didn't realize that it did that - what a fine thing DBXL is! Thanks!

I do not have a data source. Currently, this is simply an infopath form that i am trying to get to populate correctly.
Is there any other information i can add?

Sorry, I didn't read your question clearly enough and realize that you were using two repeating tables. Could you attach a screenshot of your data source?
-
Thanks for the response! The problem with that is: it takes the value of Project_Name and puts it into each field that is added into Project_Name2.
So for example the repeating table would look like this:
Project_Name
1234
5678
9012
Project_Name2
1234
1234
1234
Please letm eknow if you can help me fix that

translate() is case-sensitive and that might account for your seemingly conflicting results.
I'm attaching a form that uses a secondary XML data source as a staging area for breaking down the list and then building it back up. I've included the secondary source's contents in the view so you can see what's going on behind the ...

Hi Jimmy,
Having done some more through testing I can see you are right..there's an issue with removing too many characters..thanks for telling me.
For now I can't really find any logic in it.. user1, user2 etc. are initials
If I have DOMAIN\fn , it results in 'f' (cutting off the n)
If I have DOMAIN\nd , ...
