Hi guys,
i'm just curious - is there a way to disable infopath's ability to limit textbox character limits when connected to a database? Currently I'm only able to connect to a database if I manually create a connection using code, otherwise if I use a connection created using the wizard, I can't submit ...

Sure, I would love test it.

So, you'd have one data connection that your category drop down uses - and another data connection is used by the drop down with the service descriptions.
You'd set the Category field in the query fields for the new data connection to the value of Category in your main data source (this is going to be in rules on the Category field in ...

You sure can. You'll need to manually modify your mapping file (or use a rule to set the value). The node you want to change is the RepeatingGroup node. It would be something like /my:myFields/my:group1/my:group2 and you would change it to /my:myFields/my:group1/my:group2 [my:field1 != 0].

I have created a List in the Sharepoint 2010 UI and then exported a .wsp from which I created a New Project in Visual Studio 2010. I added an Event Receiver to the Solution and Deployed the solution. So far, so good....
I then went back to Sharepoint UI and re-opened the List form in InfoPath 2010. It seems I can no longer edit ...

Sorry, this solution DOES work in browser. Even this unchanged form will work perfectly in SP2007 web browser. There is small bug in rendering web forms in SP2010 which I was able to bypass in my new form (see the article)

Hilary,
Thank you for the suggestion, but I'm a little unclear on how this should work.
So I should set a rule on the Category dropdown box, so that when it changes, to set the query field for the second data connection to....what?
And I should use the second data connection for the Service Description dropdown, but use the data ...
