Hi WCOTech, I'll let Agni respond with details but in general, you'll want to create a .NET project for InfoPath and - yes - insert them into the OnClick handler for the button.

In order to debug these, we will need to look at your forms. Please send e-mail with the xsn files attached and we will take a look at them.

Sure. I posted some sample code on Microsoft's public form the other day:
public void SharePointListAdapterDropDown_OnAfterChange(DataDOMEvent e)
{
// filter out noise
if (e.IsUndoRedo || ''Insert'' != e.Operation || '''' == e.NewValue)
return;
// prevent infinite loops when loading files from ShP
if(true == fGettingSharePointFile)
{
...

So, you must have a roundtrip error then. We can investigate it for you, but you'll have to send us the xsn file.

Hi Aubrey,
I'm glad to hear that you got it working. The IAT tool has a complex UI that allows updating all of the mapping information. We plan to simplify this UI in the near future. We will also add functionality to add editing roles.

Looks like one of those rare roundtrip bugs. How are you trying to open the form in the designer? Are there any details in the form's error message?

Yes. In the Designer, you can double click on the button control and choose Edit Form code. This will bring up the script editor. To add .NET code, you'll want to create a project in Visual Studio using the InfoPath template. This is covered in Chapter 2 of our book.

Hi Tatopitta,
Have you searched for the Position() function on this site and forum? There are various results. If these aren't helpful, I'm sure Greg or Agni can help out. Good luck!

Thanks Agni for responding to WCotech's actual issue! :) Looks like I was only discussing hiding the widget ... :S

You'll have to shred it out of the XML file and provide logic. The file attachment is stored as base64 encoding in the form's XML. You may be able to find examples of how to do this on the MSFT blog.
