Ah, in the case of needing a specific row in a repeating table, I don't think there is any easy way to do it without a custom solution. I build all my forms without code as I am not a dev, so anything in SYM Wong-A-Ton's realm would probably require her help or help from one of the Qdabra devs here.

In the GUI, data connections are defined as full URLs, so you can't do relative paths without doing it programmatically (as far as I know).

I am able to open it in design mode on the first try with no workarounds. Are you sure you're right-clicking on the file and selecting "design" instead of just double-clicking the template? If you double-click the template file (.XSN), then it opens in the client mode.

Sure, but you'll need to put it into some control that can be hidden. You can put both controls in a table within a section and then hide the whole section instead of just the one field.

I can't imagine why you can't open either in design view. Can you attach the XSN in a reply (use the options tab in the reply screen and don't use Quick Reply) so that we can take a look?

Here are the basic steps, and I just verified them quickly with a SharePoint list as my data connection:
- Create data connection to data source (secondary data connection) - MSLB1.png
- Drag Multi-Select List Box onto canvas (rich client only - not supported in browser forms)
- Double-click MSLB to get to properties
- For Data Source, choose ...

For me, it says, "You can not apply for this program at this time."

Well, the form you have open at that point is not the same form that is in the form library, so it would need to be closed and re-opened. Unfortunately, you can't perform any actions after the close. I'm referring to non-code solutions here.

Baffling - that hasn't happened to me before.
