I actually asked a similar question (why it said "data cannot repeat here" when I put the table in the section) and you responded with that link, but I don't see filtering in the properties box anywhere. I didn't think it was possible to filter repeating data from a secondary data source? So I've been trying conditional ...

This seems to be a popular question lately:
Linking Two Repeating groups....
You need to use the filtering in the repeating table's property dialog, and not conditional formatting.

i created the email field as a hyperlink. is there anyway around where you can make it work as a text box so i can imput data back to my sql database

On the repeating sections, you would add conditional formatting to hide the section on the condition
count(preceding-sibling::my:repeatingGroupName) >= numberOfSectionsToShow
This will hide the extra sections. You'll also want to change the repeating sections' properties to prevent users from adding or removing rows.

yes this would work perfect. can you advise me on how to do this. Thank you.

Well, the Default Values dialog applies to the whole form, not the individual views. Would it be an option to by default have the most sections you could need (4?) and then use conditional formatting to hide the extra ones in certain views?
