Hello everybody,
I have a Infopath 2003 form. On this form, I have a drop down list which will be filled with a data connection. Is it possible that I can add manually an additional item when I start the form? The reason is, that I get application names from the data connection, but I want to add an additional item called "Others". ...

Thanks ErnestoM,
Form names are created by dynamically based on the rule MAX(ID) + 1..
Also I have enabled "overwrite" yes.. I know this wont work in edit option.. bcoz it is getting the next id from form library while saving the form and creating one more copy.

I'm a bit confused about what you are trying to do - when you say child forms, do you mean additional template (XSN) files? Or do you mean data (XML) files? When you say you need to keep the data in synch, what does that mean?
You may want to use a content type, and try to add logic to your form so it will submit to the correct library - that ...

Hilary,
Excellent! Thanks a million!
My issue was I have a different Value vs Display Name ... going through the logic you described got me to readjust my focus and then I got 'er working! ;)
Chris.
