 Hi- It sounds like perhaps the form schema is locked to the SQL data type. If the SQL data type is datetime, then the Infopath control is also going to be locked to that data type. Try displaying this as an Expression box instead of a dropdown to see if you can modify the way it is displayed. Good luck!

Could you post an example of one of the document URLs that are in the Datasheet view?  It might be a URL parameter that is causing this error.
