Yes, absolutely. That should work fine.
To the best of my knowledge, qRules should not have any scalability concerns. It is self-contained and relatively lightweight, so it shouldn't present any issues, even running on IPFS. If you have any specific questions about scalability, we'd be happy to answer them.

Yes unfortunately I do mean recreating the form. Try publishing the form every so often to test whether it still works and hopefully that will help you isolate what may have been the problem in the first place.
Good luck!

okay I understand. super cool. In order for me to be sold on this idea, I need to know scalability of qRules...
One more question, I am using IP 2007 and SharePoint 2007 - we are planning to upgrade to SharePoint 2010 - will any IP 2007 forms I create with qRules continue to work with SharePoint 2010?

Hello Doreen,
The way qRules works is that you assign a command to the Command field, and then the qRules code inside the form processes that command, performs whatever action it indicates, and if the command is one that has some sort of scalar output value, sets that value to the Result field so you can retrieve it there. For what it is worth, I wanted to mention one approach I tried, which seemed feasible, but I couldn't get it to work.
I created a new form, based off a data connection. I added the primary key field onto the query part of the screen, and then added all three fields into the data fields portion of the screen. I created a ...

4) can this be done with a browser capatible form
5) if not can this be done withing the ...

Thanks Anson.
I've tried what you suggested, many times unfortunately.
"apply your changes again to the fresh template" do you mean to recreate my form?
I am afraid after all this time troubleshooting I will just have to make the form all over. Tons of rules and such so it will be a hassle.

Thank you for taking the time to create an example for me! It is exactly what I was trying to do. My form calculates DateDiff in a more complex way - your way is much cleaner.
I am wondering (stupid question coming), in the button rules, what do the fields Command and Result do? I don't see them in the ...

You can try to go into the list settings then form settings and open the form again in InfoPath. This should be the form that is currently published against your list. Without making any modifications to the form try to republish again. If this succeeds, then your modified template is probably corrupt and you'll need to apply ...

More info. After finally finding the correlation ID in the logs we found that it was an authorization issue. The data connection is pointing to a pool address and qdabra was only installed on one of the servers. So if the form was hitting a different server it gave an error.
We are in the process of getting it on all of the servers.
