Are you using the InfoPath rich client or a browser based form?
Assuming the former, are you also using Outlook 2010?
I just tested the rich client and it works fine - I can see the image in the email message. Make sure that you have your email data connection configured to send the view not the attached XML.
If you need recipients to have the ...

Do they show up in Rule Inspector?
Sometimes, for a repeating section, the rules will be bound to the actual repeater. For a combo box, though, should just be control. If you select and click Manage Rules, they should be there.

Hi Tim Sedona and welcome,
To get current user you should use either the userName() function or SharePoint's UserProfileService, or Qdabra's Active Directory Web service. First two options are out-of-box. The People Picker is used to add users to your form that should get email notifications, etc. If you are trying to assign a ...

May I humbly suggest a better design?
Use a proper repeating control and stop hacking strings. Then, map the data as individual rows to a SharePoint list. Display this along with your InfoPath metadata, using a dashboard form that pulls from both. You can do this without code. Our YouTube.com/Qdabra weekly webinars have highlighted dashboards for ...

Hi J,
Is this happening for all users? Have you investigate the correlation ID and searched the SharePoint logs to get more information? If so, that would be very helpful. I'm assuming you are referring to the Person Picker control. If not, please clarify.

Or, did you design the InfoPath form in InfoPath Designer first and then publish? If so, please go to File->Form Options->Compatibility and make sure ...

Welcome to the forum!
I think what you are after is data-driven design.
InfoPath is an XML editor so it's particularly adept at dealing with dynamic data.
You just need to create a normalized data source and then add a data connection that pulls the values in and copy those to the main data source.
Great examples of this technique ...

Hi Michael,
There is no InfoPath control called a "recurring section" so I will assume you mean the semantically similar (but not equal) "repeating sections".
What are you trying to do with your form?
If you are attempting to edit the data and map it back to the lists, you can use default values to copy the items from ...

Hi Brandon,
First off, you should have a repeating group, not a repeating field. So TypeOfSavings should be a regular field underneath a repeating parent group. That's the correct structure.
Repeating fields create issues for xpath because we can't tell how many there are in advance so references to items after the repeating fields fail ...

How about a validation rule?
