I think under Form Options > Web Browser you can select and deselect Ribbon options (thus removing the Save As option). You can also restrict saving for filler forms under save options.

https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/microsoft.office.infopath.xmlform.errors.aspx - you can get a count of the errors and then stop running your code, alert the user, etc.

I am not sure - it seems like you'd need to find out the time zone the user is using in SharePoint (guessing this is a browser form?). If you can write code (and this form isn't on Office 365, where I think you can no longer publish forms with code), I'd say it could be done with code....

Here is what I would do - just for some testing - put the query field and data fields on the form and a button that executes the query. Then you can experiment with setting the account id and clicking the button to run it, to see if there are any errors. I'm wondering if you need to use substring-after the "|" character for the ...

Weird. I mean, generally speaking, if we are talking about promoted properties - those should be displaying the value from the XML file. If you copy that same XML file back into the library (maybe as a new document) do the columns show the values in the XML? It sounds like there is an issue with the template as well if for one user calculations ...

So - is the goal to submit new data to the DB that has some of the same data? Or are you trying to update the last shift's records? Generally - copying data from one repeating table to another in InfoPath is going to require code (or qRules) - I don't think you'd be able to use the default data trick with a DB bound form....

If you want to submit to SQL without code / web services, you do have to create the form off the database. Can you attach a screenshot or a copy of your template? I'm having a hard time visualizing the issue. You can attach a file under the options tab in a reply. :)

I just tried this. I took a new blank form, added code to the save event to default the save location, published to a network folder, and then opened the published form from the network folder - I had no errors. I did use the full server path for both dialogs when publishing (because that was what was on my clipboard, so I just pasted it twice), ...
