Sorry, I'm talking about width on the control - the rich text control itself?
-
It looks exactly like the steps I would take to publish and open the form - and I don't get an error on open. Can I see your test template? You should be able to attach it under a reply in the Options tab.

Did you also set the width to auto? I just set the height - see attached screenshot. I also am using Office 2016 with IP 2013 - not sure if that makes a difference here.

You need to set the form to a Filler form under compatibility. Web Browser forms don't allow using code for Save. You should be able to use File > Save As > select the filler option from the dropdown. See attached screenshot.

Okay, so here is what made it look right in email for me - I set the height on the rich text box to "auto" - Now, it still didn't display white all the way across, but I think you are going to have trouble getting the email formatted nicely with the gray table background, and you may want to make some modifications to that (like, ...

Ah hah - so the screenshot with the control layout all funny is from the email? I'll take a look tomorrow & see what can be done - sometimes formatting gets tricky in email. :)

Oh that is a weird one. Is this a browser form (one you open in your web browser) or in a filler form? If a browser form, is it a SharePoint list form? What about SharePoint / InfoPath version? Feel free to attach a copy of your template under the Options tab in a reply if you'd like me to take a look at it. :)

Digital signatures aren't available. But you could have an approve button and record the user name and date time in another field when they approve. I'd probably keep it simple with a 1st Approval field, 2nd Approval field, etc. Then when the approve button is clicked, if 1st Approval field is blank, set it to the user name function ...

Sorry, I should have seen that. You need to use the full path to the production_record group here - right click the field in the fields taskpane and select copy XPath.
MainDataSource.CreateNavigator().SelectSingleNode("FULLPATHTOPRODUCTION_RECORD", NamespaceManager).AppendChild(doc.DocumentElement.CreateNavigator());
