I'm still a bit lost. The client has InfoPath installed. You are putting the InfoPath templates (XSN files) on a server. The client has limited access to this server. If you can send the secondary data to the client via e-mail, why not just send a new copy of the form down via e-mail? Same thing, no?
You could stash the XML file in the Internet ...

Sorry for missing the code. What is causing the SQL query to run? You could set some state before and after that and filter on the state. The other thing you could do is disable updates during the SQL query to prevent DOM events but only do that if you are sure the resulting DOM will be valid.

Hi Grizeen,
This is no doubt a problem with the form. Probably because it's not set up to update the Access DB correctly. Are you the author of the form?

Hi V-Luchen,
Depends on the setting in SharePoint for the default view. The default row limit for the default view (and for all views) is 100. To change this to be greater, go to the SharePoint site, Modify Settings and Columns; click on the default view; scroll to the bottom and change the number of rows.

Hi Clive,
I am not aware of this issue, but timeout issues are frequent with SharePoint. How often do you see this?

Hi again,
Not sure regarding the ntext. In general, you can get this info if you write your own code to access SQL. I don't remember why it's a problem with the default data connections wizard. Could be because it can't be validated. I need to refresh my memory. Anyway, what site said ntext wasn't supported? Do you have a link? I can check with ...

Hi Sumeet,
If you modify the schema it will be a problem. You can work around this by always adding optional elements. If the elements are changed, deleted, or not optional, automatic upgrade won't work.

Hi Sumeet,
Yes, our HowTo is specific to SharePoint IDs and not AD. SharePoint uses AD to authenticate users, though.
Hi Anders,
Thanks for the link to Jan Tielen's HowTo. That's a great link!

Hi Rick,
Sounds like an architecture flaw in your solution. Why are you storing the secondary data in files on a server? Why not just query from the form? The other idea would be to use some .NET caching support to get the info down. At any rate, your solution needs to be Full Trust to access a file on a drive and that's a bad design. Need to use ...
