  • Re: Submit creates duplicate (two) records

So I had a good think about this and there are many ways to do this, including with a variable in the form that gets set on the first submit, and then blocks the submit button. Another way is here. http://claytoncobb.wordpress.com/2009/06/20/auto-generating-filenames-for-infopath-forms/ I ended up doing this, storing the filename in a variable, ...

  • Re: Need to verify that folder exists before Saving Using ChangeSubmitUrl

OK, I can create and delete folders.  However, what I cannot figure out is how to rename a folder.  I have tried following the link above (and others) to no avail.  On my form, it seems to submit the change, but the folder name never changes.  The fields that the connection returns that seem to be relevant to what I wnat to do ...

  • Re: how to use infopath 2010 browser enabled form to send a email on submit

I haven't used email forms a lot, but in my experience they can tend to be a little clunky. I would use a browser enabled form and send the link via email. you can open the form via SharePoint (in the browser) and copy the form URL, then use a hyper link in your email. that way when users click on the link it will direct them to the form. ...

  • Re: how to use infopath 2010 browser enabled form to send a email on submit

Hi, I had a quick question. In this approach when the user submits the completed form as a email, does it require that the user is on a PC that has outlook 2003 installed. I ask this question since I see in the below tutorial says outlook is needed on every users PC.In my case, all users will not have outlook ...

  • Re: Submit creates duplicate (two) records

Hello Ernesto, thanks for your feedback. I think I actually want the opposite of what you are describing - I need users to be able to create a new form (using Submit) and then be able to click from Sharepoint and save it many times.  Once created, it seems I need to disable Submit.  Is there a way to do this?  Thanks! Shaun

  • Re: XLS to XML question

Hi- To populate repeating data you will need two sheets in your Excel spreadsheet. One sheet is the "parent" data and the other sheet is the repeating (child) data.  When using the XLS_To_XML_Mapper.xsn (located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Qdabra Software\Qdabra Excel to XML Tool\Forms) you'll need to click "Add Child ...

  • Re: Submit creates duplicate (two) records

Hi Shaun, Two records are created because Save and Submit are different operations. In the first click you submitted, in the second click you saved. You can go into your Form Options and deactivate the option to Save / Save As. There may also be a setting in the submit button ("Close without prompt"). These modified settings will force ...

  • Submit creates duplicate (two) records

I am designing a form in Infopath 2007 to connect to a form library in Sharepoint 2007.  It should open up in the client Infopath application as I have other things in the form that are not compatible with browser.  I am publishing the form as a content type on the Sharepoint site. The submit data connection uses now() as the file name, ...

  • Re: Copy text/data from repeating section to repeating section

Well, one thing you could do would be add conditional formatting to the section - if the count of the repeating section nodes is = 25, don't allow insert or delete - but that's kind of restrictive in that once you hit 25, you can't delete any rows either.
