To actually format the email itself for the submit email adapter you would have to write custom code to format an email message and the form might need to be Full Trust.
However, if you don't use the submit email adapter and just have the user click File::Send to Mail Recipient, then the email sent actually has a snapshot of the form in the body ...

Have you tried changing the main data source element in question to a type of just Date instead of Date/Time? If you set that then only the date is populated into the XML since the datatype only allows for a date. This could solve your problem.

The interesting thing about your question is that it seems that you want the second repeating table with dropdown to not just show the values but to actually populate the values. What I don't understand is how do you want to control which dropdown in the first repeating table controls the second repeating table? What happens if you do the above ...

The correct Data Validation structure for only allowing positive numbers in the Data Validation dialog is:
field x ''is less than or equal to'' 0
This is because the dialog is asking you to give it the error condition. When invalid.
This is easy to confuse. I do it all the time. :)

This is a known bug in InfoPath. The cursor for adjusting tables gets all screwed up. You found one fix, reboot. The other workaround is to pull up the table properties and adjust column widths in the column tab. That tab even lets you quickly go to the next or previous column to quickly adjust column widths in a table.

dlgross, since you already know how to enable the show hide, all you're missing is the default value. double click on the checkboxes and set the default value appropriately for the condition to have the section hidden when first loading this form. the actual value will depend on how you've setup your condition.

InfoPath does change the dropdowns and Date Pickers to text when printing so not to show the control in the printout. Of course, printing from the design mode will show more of what you see in the design mode to aid design review.

In InfoPath 2007 coming soon, a feature called the Data Connection Library will actually provide this type of favorites list functionality. It's probably not exactly what you're looking for but similar.

One other option is to have a blank first row and hide it using filters. Add a filter to the repeating table/section. Choose ''The expression'' from the filter dropdown and then type in ''position() > 1'' without the qutoes. This will display all rows except the first one.
