Anuma,  That makes sense, but, wouldn't that mean everytime I publish fixes to my template I would lose the stuff I hard code into template.xml.  Is there no way to put it into the design (.xsn)? PAW

Seems I had two rules.  One in receiving field, and one in [] field.  Once I removed the one in the receiving field, which was incorrect.  The [] works and clears the date when false. By you saying that, I realized I had put in the 2nd rule in the wrong field.  Thanks!
