• Re: Content check

Thanks for your quick response, but I am already running rules as suggested in that link and this doesn't actually give me the XPath command I need. I need a command that makes sure all instances of /my:Hardware/my:Version are not blank when my:Hardware is repeating. If you use the condition "my:Version is not blank" it will return ...

  • Content check

Hi, I have a number of buttons on my various views that I need to perform certain checks before the user can progress. I have managed to work out all but one of the actions for this. I have two repeating groups with non-repeating contents. I want my button to check that a certain field is not blank in every instance of the repeating group as at ...

  • Re: Custom Datasource

Thanks to help elsewhere in this forum, everything is finally slotting into place! In case anyone else wants to change the query command to make their datasource connections more efficient it's actually very simple.Set myDS = XDocument.DataObjects("DataSource Name") myDS.QueryAdapter.Command = sqlStatement myDS.Query Hope this ...

  • Re: Node Count

Ah! Thank you so much! This is actually where I started but the example I had found didn't have Set at the start of the line. That makes all the difference in the world! I am so new to programming Infopath. Thank you for your help. I think I can work the rest of this out from that link.

  • Custom Datasource

Hi all, Is it possible in VBScript in Infopath to filter a secondary data source before it is retrieved? I have an SQL Server database with a few thousand lines returned from the query I run at the moment. The idea is similar to a question answered elsewhere on the forum, where I copy lines from this, secondary datasource into a local ...

  • Node Count

Afternoon, I've been looking around for code that can do this for a few days and all the samples I find use an XDocument.View node select method as part of the code. I don't actually have all of the nodes that I want to look at in the views that I am calling the function from, so (as far as I understand it - which isn't very ...

  • Dynamc Help VBS translation

Hi, I am having trouble converting a bit of JScript code I got from a colleague (which I think he got from here) into VBScript. The code had already been modified from the original but I'm losing it in translation. In JScript, the code works by testing this line in the if statement: oHTMLDoc.item(eventObj.Context.nodeName) I can not find ...

  • Re: SP Permissions

Hi Sven, We have been in touch with Microsoft and apparently this is an expected feature. I'm told Infopath tries to check out/in the form as it submits it and in order to do this the relevent permissions must be available to the user (so full site Edit in our case). Microsoft could only make two recommendations. One to give Edit ...

  • Re: SP Permissions

The error that appears in the details is as follows: InfoPath cannot submit the form. An error occurred while the form was being submitted. The form cannot be submitted to the following location: <<form location>> The site may be offline, read-only, or otherwise unavailable. Unspecified error As it happens, the form has ...

  • SP Permissions

Hi everybody, I'm having a problem submitting Infopath forms. For some reason, an error arises if a user only has insert privileges. The submit data connection only pushes the form to a single SP 2003 Form Library with a small number of library columns. As it happens, if the user has insert privileges, the form actually submits perfectly, ...
