I had mistakenly checked the ''allow overwrite'' checkbox. The function works perfectly! This forum is so awesome! Thank you, Matt! Posted to General (Forum) by CycleFitness on 05-09-2006 Re: Not Allowing Overwrite Hmmm ... I entered the code as follows: function CTRL19_5::OnClick(eventObj) { if (XDocument.Errors.Count > 0) { XDocument.UI.Alert(''Required information is missing as indicated by the red asterisk(s).'') return; } try { XDocument.Submit() } catch(e) { XDocument.UI.Alert(''Sorry, the form has already been ... Posted to General (Forum) by CycleFitness on 05-09-2006 Not Allowing Overwrite Hello everyone: I'm visiting again the issue of using Code and how it supercedes the error trapping built into InfoPath. I have to use Code to use the Application.ActiveWindow.Close(true) function so InfoPath closes once the form is submitted. With that said, if I have the submit data connection set to not allow overwrite, InfoPath gives the ... Deb Posted to General (Forum) by CycleFitness on 04-25-2006 Re: Upper case all data Oh, boy. Thanks, Matt. You guys are way over my head! I'm assuming that's all through code??? For example, would general JScript tutorials have taught me about the grouping of ... Posted to General (Forum) by CycleFitness on 04-24-2006 Re: Required Controls Left Blank But Can Still Submit OH! I was so close! ;-) Finally! I know this seemed elementary to the regulars, but for people like me who aren't developers, we really need simple solutions like this. This might be a good solution to put on one of the Websites. Being able to close InfoPath after submission should be a basic function built into the program and not require ... Posted to General (Forum) by CycleFitness on 04-24-2006 Re: Required Controls Left Blank But Can Still Submit Sheesh. I know nothing about how to program in InfoPath. I'm pulling from many sources here ... can you help with what's wrong with this syntax? I get an error at ''ELSE'''' function CTRL19_5::OnClick(eventObj) { if (XDocument.Errors.Count > 0) XDocument.UI.Alert(''Required information is missing as indicated by the red ... Posted to General (Forum) by CycleFitness on 04-24-2006 Re: Handling OnSubmitRequest() failure message David: Would you be willing to share your code with me? I need to: 1) On clicking the Submit button, through code, check to confirm all required fields have been entered and if not, display a message box, then leave the user in the form. If they have, the form is then submitted (Sharepoint list) and InfoPath is closed. I have the close code ...
