• Re: Infopath and Access....

Hi I think this will help. Double-click the field to get into its properties. Then click the fx button on the end of the default value row. Select 'Insert Field or Group' and browse to your table and the field you want. At this point there is an option to filter the data by a formula or a value on the form, for ...

  • Re: Working with controls..

Yes that is correct. But make their relationship such that the primary key in the tasks table is linked to a duaghter key in the phase table thus creating a one-to-many relationship, so for each task there can be multiple phases. Then the primary key in the phase table is linked to a daughter key in the activities table to create the ...

  • Re: Calculations in a Text Box not displaying properly

Hi Had the bug a few times myself. Create another field from scratch and delete the old field replacing it with the new one, format as you want. I am guessing that the box is set as binary which is why it is only a 1 or 0. I think the box is greyed out where the field is connected to a database and the database datatype restricts the ...

  • Re: Working with controls..

Hi OK, so you need to have two extra tables in your database. One to represent your phase and one to represent your activities. Then link them in InfoPath from Task to Phase in a one-to-many relationship and from Phase to Activity in a one-to-many relationship. This way each can appear inside the other. Cheers

  • Re: Upgrading Activated Form

Hi I think the easiest way to explain this is that when you publish your form to a library it retains a local copy thet it registers internally as template.xsn. If you need to change this file you need to go into 'modify settings and columns' and click 'Edit Template'. Make your changes and then that works fine. The ...

  • Re: external data source - unwanted data

Hi Could this be that although the display name is TOM is the data being recorded actually something different like TOM's ID. If so, then the filter would have to reference his ID not TOM. Cheers

  • Re: What database to use

Hi I totally agree with Clay that SQL is the preferred databae for speed. It also beats SharePoint hands-down with reporting possibilities. Using Microsoft Query you can link Excel into the database to pull back the latest results every time it is opened. Go into Excel, Data, Import External Data, and select new database query, ...
