I'm using InfoPath 2007 and MOSS 2007/WSS 3.0. I had a data connection to a SQL view. Are you suggesting I set a new Rule for the drop down list?  I tried but when I Set Condition and choose "is not blank", the 3rd field in Condition dialog (of Rule) goes gray (I can't select anything).

Maybe you need to just set up two data connections to publish to two different SharePoint locations. I believe you have to create a content type to publish to two different lSharePoint locations otherwise you can only publish to one location.  I am not an expert but is your form being published as a content type to SharePoint?
