Jimmy, I have added the ProjectForm.xsn and mapped it to my project table as instructed. I also added my other form (Job Setup Form) as a doctype and mapped its fields. When I try to create a new document from the Job Setup Form doctype I get the following error: InfoPath cannot open the selected form because of an error in the ...

Thanks Jimmy. So if I'm not using the secondary source (ProjectForms.xsn) How do I do the mapping in DBXL? Do I use Job Setup Form twice?

Hey Jimmy, Have a couple more questions for you. "I'm using a rule on the button that utilizes the concat() formula to build the XML to submit using the values in the ProjectsDom data source. That full formula looks like this:" I looked at the rules in your button and don't see where you added the concat() ...

Thanks Jimmy. Can you explain how I do this part? "I added the template.xml file from ProjectForm.xsn's source as a secondary XML data connection in SubmitProjects.xsn. This allows you to store the project values in a location outside the main data source before they are submitted."

  • Re: Code behind for button to update to a SQL table

Okay, so I've been Googling like crazy to figure out how to do this and it looks like that I cannot submit directly to SQL if my SQL table is not the main data source...correct me if I'm wrong on this. What I've read is that I must submit the data to a web service that works with the database. I will already be using DBXL to ...

  • Re: Code behind for button to update to a SQL table

I reviewed the links provided and in their instructions it requires that I design the form from a SQL table. I don't want to do this as I don't want to show any of the fields in this table on my form except for the dropdown list. I can't use DBXL for this because I already have a Submit button on my form that is using DBXL ...

Thanks Ernesto. It seems to work great. I did want to let you know that there were a couple omissions/errors in the instructions; nothing major though. In Step 4 the user needs to change the hyperlink in the xml document to their Qdabra web server name; this was not written in the instructions In Step 5 the ...

  • Code behind for button to update to a SQL table

In my Infopath form I have a text box and a dropdown control that is populated by a SQL Server table. In some cases none of the available values in the dropdown list will apply to the user. In this case I would like the user to have the option to add a new record to the SQL table that populates the dropdown. I would like to do ...
