• Re: Submit a specific view to email

This is correct. Only the current view can be sent in email. Also, you can't have a rule to switch view and then trigger the email because of the way InfoPath rules work. One way we have handled this in the past is: 1) add a node to the datasource which is ''SpecialOpen'' boolean default to false 2) In your submit button use rules. first ...

  • Re: regform and upgrading msi's

While I have never done it it is technically possible. All the MSI regform tool does is automatically build the MSI with the right calls to the InfoPath register solution API. You will have to build a custom MSI that checks for the presence of your existing MSI, uninstall it first, then install and call the register solution api in InfoPath to ...

  • Re: Data from different tables into a single one.

You should be able to accomplish this. This article explains it for SQL but the principles are the same as for Access (since both are using the same ODBC data connection wizard in InfoPath). Look closely on the last screen to confirm that submit is enable for that data ...

  • Re: Repeating Section Calculations

The issue is that you have put the sum_parts_cost inside the record table. I thought you wanted to sum all the parts/costs across records. Option 1) move that outside each record. Option 2) if you don't actually need to store the data then use the "Expresion Box" control which doesn't need to be bound to a field. You can ...

  • Security Error Opening a Managed Code Form

Sometimes when trying to access an InfoPath form deployed to a web site you will get a cryptic security error preventing the form from opening. This can happen both for intranet or internet web sites and is oftentimes due to the fact that the form has C# code in it. This can happen even if the C# InfoPath project is empty. Most of the time you ...

  • Re: Error opening a mailed form

To view the security settings go to the menu Tools::Form Options and then select the Security tab. Then, since you are trying to send it in email that forces restricted security because email is inherently insecure. If you have any external data connections in the form for example, they require at least domain security which is why you'd get ...

  • Re: repeating table insert/delete row functions

You're welcome. :) Hmm, I'm not sure what you're trying in the above. You should not have to manually update the template.xml by extracting the files. There is a little known dialog under Tools::Default Values. Here you can specify the default values for any node and if you want to have multiple default rows you can set the values for each of ...

  • Re: Submit infopath form using custom outlook form

I think you might be able to do this by writing custom code to directly access Outlook's object model to create the note. You might need to make the form full trust for this to work though.

  • Re: Submit form to db connection

One thing to remember is that to submit to a database you must start designing the form from a database connection. You can't design the form first then try to connect it to a database unless you write a bunch of code. When you do it that way, InfoPath then automatically sets up the submit data connection for you too.

  • Re: problems populating drop down list box

Hi Rasmus, Welcome to our site. To populate the dropdown with the options you have to use the secondary datasource. Your MainDOM is only going to list the selected value from the linked table for the given node. I have two questions to try to help figure out what is happening: 1) Why is it not desirable to use a secondard data connection to ...
