Last » Re: Formula to count text responses Hi Karen, The approach I provided you previously with assumed that the answers were similar to all questions since it all had similar values (K,A, V, and R). If you are going to have repeating answer sets, then I would suggest using a hide show logic in order for a drop down to be hidden based on a field which defines the answer type ... Posted to Newbie Questions (Forum) by donstephen on 06-15-2014 Re: Auto generate unique ID Hi Lan-Huang, Generally the idea here is to query the last xml file sent and use it's ID as the basis. If you are querying a large amount let's say a thousand XMLs, then querying the items and counting the rows is not advisable. In the formula used, you will notice a MAX(ID) function which will only returns the highest number in the ... Posted to General (Forum) by donstephen on 06-12-2014 Re: Auto generate unique ID Hi Lan-Huang, May I know where you are submitting your items to? In order to generate the numbers, you will need to have a basis and this would not be possible if you do not have a database (i.e. submitting the form/s via e-mail only). Regards, Posted to General (Forum) by donstephen on 06-12-2014 Re: InfoPath rules - validate user by looking at drop down list box items. Hi nemo385, I don't think that you will be able to disable the submit button using the contents of the drop-down list if the choices were entered manually. However, if the items are queried from a list, you can re-query the list filtered by the current user (username()), and then have a formatting condition to disable the submit button if the ... Posted to Controls (Forum) by donstephen on 06-10-2014 Re: Multi-Select List Box - Uncheck selections Hi Ann, In 2010 under the Data tab, click Default values and uncheck the node that the multiple selection list box control is bound to. Hope this helps. Posted to Controls (Forum) by donstephen on 06-10-2014 Re: Auto generate unique ID Hi, Yes that is correct, the existing ID will determine the generated ID. A quick resolution is to add another rule which generates the value CX0000000001 for the ID, with the condition if the returned query is less than 1 or equal to 0. I hope this makes sense, if not kindly attach a sample of copy of your form so I could ... Hi Paskal, Unfortunately, changing a drop-down's data source order is not possible out of the box, and you will probably need to use code to change a data connection's sort order. You can however use two drop-down list boxes for each data connection sort order and use a hide-show logic for the check box. Or, you might want to try out ... Posted to Data Connections (Forum) by donstephen on 06-10-2014 Re: Total of repeating table calculated value Hi Marculos, Kindly try this formula using and eval approach: sum(eval(group, "my:Quantity * my:Price")) where group is the repeating group/section. More information can be found here. Regards, Posted to Newbie Questions (Forum) by donstephen on 06-10-2014 Re: Auto generate unique ID Hi sbiju7, Please try this formula below to generate a consecutive unique ID for your form: concat("CX", concat(substring("000000000", string-length(max(ID) + 1)), max(ID) + 1)) Note that this formula needs to query the database first before it can generate the number, and then use the max ID of the returned ... Posted to General (Forum) by donstephen on 06-10-2014 Re: Form view forwarded in email, force line manager to open it in a browser to fill in Hi Tom, If you are using an InfoPath Designer form published as a Form Library, then the hyperlink for your form is the File Name you are using at the submit to library data connection. If not, then I am assuming that you are using a Custom Form from a SharePoint list. If so then you can try creating a web part page which will display your ...
