The proper/normal way to do something in Infopath especially with sharepoint list(s) is without code behind, i.e. by using rules and formulas.
At least, I do not see anything in your post that would have dictated the use of code-behind.
BTW, custom Infopath code is not supported for Sharepoint List Form type of of Infopath ...

Hi,
I have a SharePoint list with fields: "DisplayName","Value","Type". the list should populate several drop downs in an Info path 2007 browser-compatible form. The type determines to which drop down the data should be populated to. I Can't filter the data from the list on the design because it's ...

I believe I have identified a bug. Example: Create a SQL server 2008/ 2005 table with 2 fields (BugID and BugName) and an Infopath form (2007/ 2010) connected to the table. Create a repeating table / section with only the BugName field. Create a button to submit the data and query it again.

You did not even mention in which context you are trying to use it.
In Sharepoint online (Office 365) you cannot send emails at all.

Any entry in either table O or table P must have at least the first two comboboxes entered. I also have a set of 3 ...

Thanks, our main issue is the edit button on the ribbon as its the most in your face option for the user. Can its default behaviour be changed to match the edit in browser command in the items drop down menu?

Well, to be clear, if you set the field's value after you submit the XML to SharePoint, the next time you open it, the value won't be what you've just set it to....
But you should be able to set the field to the value of itself concatenated with your other field - concat(Select Your Field Here, @CreatedBy)

Created by is there, but it only queries on submit. So although the function is in the formula, it shows up blank because the query has to happen after the form is submitted to the library

Isn't @CreatedBy already in your formula? I'm confused.
