So - you get an error when you try to connect to the XML file? What is the error? Or is the issue that the schema is hard to work with because of it coming back as a repeating structure and the data being all in tags w/ columnValue for the name?
-
Schema validation errors indicate that the schemas will be different between the working & non working files - not to second guess you, but are you 100% sure the XML schemas are the exact same in the two you compared? Specifically SummaryOpenSection & Question82, as per the error message?

One thing tho - if your final form is going to be browser form, you may want to give this test form a quick test in the browser & make sure IPFS doesn't get all upset over the complex formula in the rules. :)

I actually worked up a quick sample using this link:
http://www.bizsupportonline.net/infopath2007/calculate-date-difference-infopath-rules-formulas.htm
I've attached it - save it locally, then right click and select design and preview it. I'm not sure if it does what you want tho, frankly - you mention adding 5/4 to 5/14 ...

I think what you'd have to do is calculate the difference between the two dates, then add that difference to the first date. Is code an option for you? If not, if you have to use InfoPath formulas, you could use one of the many samples online for getting the number of days between your two dates, then use the built in addDays function to add ...

Well, I think DisplayName is going to also use the PC namespace prefix. What I usually do is right click the field in the task pane for fields (you have to select the "advanced view" option for list forms) and then select Copy XPath - that should get you the actual XPath to the field. I should warn you that people pickers are a little ...

Wonderful, glad that did it - oh, and here is an oldie but goodie blog post by Greg Collin's on preceding-sibling that I always find helpful as well:
http://www.infopathdev.com/blogs/greg/archive/2005/06/13/Using-XPath_2700_s-_2700_preceding_2D00_sibling_2700_-Axis-Correctly.aspx

Yeah, you'll need the namespace prefixes. So on the repeating group, the rule to set Client would be: preceding-sibling::my:SharePointListItem_RW/my:Client
-
So - when they insert a new section, you want the area in the previous Client section copied in? If so - that is just like my sample (even though my repeating group uses a table instead of a section...). I must be misunderstanding something?

No - I won't be able to preview the form, because I won't have access to your data sources, but usually I can get a pretty good idea in design mode. :)
