 I seem to have all the pieces but this is the first time i have built this type of control, so I am not familiar with the username function.  How do I set the rule to make it visible to just those users, as I am trying to accomplish this i only seem to be able to hide the button not make it visible to the correct users.?

Just a quick question how can I update the other sharepoint list from my current infopath form once I update the field in my current list it should be also updated on the other list. I know how to get data from other list but updating it to other sharepoint is I dont have any idea hope anyone can help me about this thank you in advance

OK, here's what will work: Set the field's value in infoPath rules (which allow "If a and If b ..." etc), but have one of the conditions be "if the field is blank". That is the equivalent of setting a default for the field. I never would have thought of it without your help. gran
