Hi Srudolph728,
This is very interesting. I have never heard of anyone writing a default script for all InfoPath forms. I didn't even know it was possible. Usually, the script runs as part of an XSN not as part of InfoPath executable. So what you are saying is: if you just go to Windows->Start and choose InfoPath, it flashes the Getting ...

Hi Dpriceva and welcome to our forum!
Yes, in the InfoPath Designer you can add a SharePoint data connection that populates a dropdown from this SharePoint list. However, if it is really long, there are two issues: 1) the view may restrict it to 100 items (default), so you have to change the SharePoint default view properties to be large enough ...

Hi George,
Based on my analysis yesterday, I don't think this is an ado dataset diffgram issue. It's likely some network protocol issue as you suggested in your 4:22pm private e-mail. Nevertheless, you don't have to resort to manually entering. Just save, open in Notepad, delete the xdadoset element at the bottom. Save. Reopen in ...

Hi Joseph and Clay,
XSL supports sorting but that will require manually modifying your view.xsl. Extract your source files and open your xsl and add the xsl:sort to the dropdown control. Not sure it will work for dropdowns but I know it works for tables, etc., so it should work. This will require an xd:preserve block around the control so that ...

If you are seeing Getting Started screen, it wouldn't be failing because of script. You only see the Getting Started when you are opening InfoPath without a form template. Script only executes in form templates. Hence, this is probably just a bad install. Have you tried repairing Office?

Hi Michael71 and welcome to our forum,
You can do this without writing code (C#, Visual Designer) and without using BizTalk. But, I need to understand your requirements more first. Do you have SharePoint 2003 or SharePoint 2007? Do you need to prevent employees from editing when the form is assigned to manager? Do you need to prevent employees ...

Hi Luke and thanks for the solution.
I'm pretty sure there is a way to set it so that you can fool the DOM into thinking it is new without clearing all of the data elements.
Another approach is to just remove the xdado element from the DOM.
Here's an exercise: create a sample form that queries and submits to a DB table. Previewed and ...

Hi George,
Sounds like you're talking about the often-requested "template" feature. If the forms are the same and you want to use one as "sample data", we call that request the "template" feature because you use the data from one as a template for others.
Merging is definitely meant to do this and much ...

Hi Steve,
Check out the following link: http://blogs.msdn.com/infopath/archive/2006/08/29/730062.aspx. In general, our Database Accelerator Web Service will simplify your form significantly since it will abstract the XML to SQL DB mapping and allow you to define the mapping separately without having to worry about redesigning your form every time ...
