I cannot create external list because of permission and there are like 100K records on that table. So, I think I have no choice other than web service.
Is it possible to send link related to web service that solve my problem or any hint to start from.
I would really appreciate your help

Ok, thanks - here's the XSN of a brand-new list. I noticed that when I open it in InfoPath, the original formatting of the form is already gone.
cheers.

To get the form from the server:* Click the 'edit form'-button in Sharepoint -> "Open this SharePoint list form in Microsoft InfoPath?" -> Yes -> InfoPathThen save this XSN locally.
Thanks!

Thanks ErnestoM,
I am more interested in work arounds since we can not use any utilities since this solution will have to be installed on a client site. As part of this migration, we can not have any c# or VB code associated. All we can use is CAML kind of coding. :-(

Hi,
here's the local copy of the modified XSN. I'm not really sure on how to get the original version of the form saved
on the SharePoint server. Please advise.
It's actually just a basic Sharepoint "Issue Tracking"-list, with a few fields modified to suit company needs.
Cheers,

Could you save the XSN locally and attach it to your next forum post? You can attach via the Options tab.
Actually, it would be great if you could:
(a) download the current XSN, save it locally, and attach it here
(b) make changes to the XSN, save it locally, and attach it here.
That would give us a chance to compare the forms and look for ...

You would most likely need to write code to achieve this. I can't think of anything in InfoPath (out of the box) to support this.
However, InfoPath forms based on SharePoint lists don't allow code, so that makes this even more difficult.
How about allowing users to enter a name? Is that a good enough workaround?

Hi,
To achieve this we use qRules, since there's nothing out of the box in InfoPath to achieve this.
There are other workaround, though none "easy". A quick Google search reveals this and other sites.
There is a free trial of qRules available on Qdabra.com, and Hilary's blog posts should be a pretty good starting point (link ...

You could use a web service to query the data. The web service would be running using an app pool, and the app pool identity would have permission to the SQL database (but the individual users would not).
You could also move the data to a SharePoint list and have the form query the data from there.
Good luck!

Hi-
It's a little difficult to understand what's going on. Are you saying you had a working InfoPath form?
Do the errors happen on all machines, some machines or one machine?
Are errors happening with all forms (perhaps indicating an issue in SharePoint) or just with one InfoPath form?
Please provide more details and we'll be glad ...
